The Luton Male Voice Choir was formed in 1993 by a small group of enthusiasts with the objective of promoting male voice singing for personal and public pleasure and benefit. Since that time thanks to the dedication of our members, it has gone from strength to strength, having grown into an entertaining and an accomplished choir. Throughout the years the choir has raised many thousands of pounds for local charities and promoted the good name of Luton throughout the country by supporting charitable events as far afield as Norfolk, Yorkshire and Eastbourne.

The choir is regularly requested to perform for multinational audiences at prestigious venues in London, including Hampton Court Palace, Grosvenor House and the Natural History Museum.
Pleasure and enjoyment are the key words for the choir, this being enhanced by its regular participation and support of the National Association of Choirs (NAC). The Musical Director of the choir, Mr Ken Hone is a Vice President and was Chairman of NAC Group 11. It leads to invitations to participate in others concerts also; for example in October 2003 we sang as guests at the 'Hundreds in Harmony' Concert at Birmingham's new Symphony Hall, and in 2007 as guests at a massed concert in Southend to raise money for the RNLI and Air Ambulance service. It is through these activities that many friends have been made throughout the country, providing mutual support and enjoyment.
Through this relationship we have many associate members from other choirs who join us regularly at our major concerts. Our London concerts prove very popular, particularly with these associate members who travel at their own expense to join us.

Our last venture in London was when we gave three performances to enthusiastic American visitors of more than 700 a time at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane, where we performed with the band of the Grenadier Guards and the Scottish Pipe Band.
Choir members enjoy the refreshments and plush surroundings at the Hilton Hotel between performances.

Offstage the members of the choir, together with their families, have an active social life and a strong spirit of camaraderie exists between them. The Choir has an active social section, which organizes events throughout the year for the enjoyment of members, their partners and friends, ranging from quiz nights and trips to top London shows to the annual Christmas Dinner. We have a Friends of LMVC section, which actively supports the Choir in all its activities and is open to all.

The choir always welcomes applications for new members. We’d love to hear from men whether they've sung before or not. Our musical director is highly skilled in taking ordinary blokes and turning them into a good choir. Singing in harmony with other tenors and basses is a uniquely rewarding experience which we would like you to have the opportunity of sampling for yourself.
